When looking for a job, you might as well put the odds on your side. In addition to French courses, CACI offers several training courses that will make all the difference.
English Courses and English Conversation Workshops
In Montreal, fluency in English is required to access jobs in various sectors, including administration and secretariat, customer service, banking and finance, retail, etc.
English courses are offered in partnership with the English-Montreal School Board.
They are intended for permanent residents and Canadian citizens who can speak French and who do not own a Quebec DES (secondary school diploma) or DEC (diploma of college studies).
Rate: $90 per session payable at registration + $50 for the guidebook
Two sessions per week :
- Beginners
Monday, Wednesday and Friday – from 9 am to 12 am and from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm - Intermediary
Monday, Wednesday and Friday – from 9 am to 12 am and from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm - Advanced
Monday, Wednesday and Friday – from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Documents required for registration:
- Permanent residence card and passport or citizen card/citizen certificate
- Valid health insurance card
- $140 in cash or check
A daycare service is available for children aged between 2 and 5 at the cost of $6 for half a day.
The next session will take place in classroom from September 7 to December 9.
English conversation workshops are also available for people who want to practice their spoken English.
Computer Course
Are your computer skills limited or in need of an update? For a small fee you can explore Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn how to do research on the Internet using the Google search engine.
Start a Business
This training course is given in partnership with Calixa-Lavallée professional training center and the Pointe-de-l’Île School Board.
At the end of the course, learners receive a professional specialization certificate (ASP) granted by the Ministry of Education, Leisure and Sports, and the Calixa-Lavallée professional training center.
Duration: 2 months and a half
Rate: $100
Start a Daycare
This training course is given in partnership with Calixa-Lavallée professional training center and the Pointe-de-l’Île School Board.
At the end of the training, learners receive:
- A professional specialization certificate (ASP) granted by the Ministry of Education, Leisure and Sports, and the Calixa-Lavallée professional training center
- A permit from the School Board
- A First Aid certificate
Duration: 2 months and a half
Rate: $100
