Objective Integration (OI)

Upon arriving in Quebec, it is normal to feel disoriented. One may lose one’s points of reference and have difficulty understanding how things work in the host country.

CACI offers the Objectif Intégration (OI) session to facilitate the integration of newcomers to Quebec and help them discover the unique features of the Quebec labour market.

Spread over several days, the Objectif Intégration session is free and will help you better understand the democratic values and Quebec values enshrined in the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, as well as how they manifest themselves in your daily life.

This service is offered as part of the Integration Support and Assistance Programme (PASI) of the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration (MIFI).

A 24-hour session consisting of three sections to learn more about the host society:

  • Section 1: Diversity and adaptation in Quebec,
  • Section 2: Five keys to better understanding Quebec
  • Section 3: The world of work in Quebec.

To participate in the Integration Objective session, you must meet the following conditions.

Age

  • You must be 18 years of age or older.

Knowledge of French

  • You must have an intermediate level of French to participate in the session.

Residing in Quebec

  • Immigrants must reside in Quebec to register and participate in the Objectif Intégration session.

Eligible statuses

You must be in one of the following situations:Vous devez être dans l’une des situations suivantes :

  • You are a naturalised Canadian citizen;
  • You are a permanent resident of Canada;
  • You are a temporary resident and hold a permit issued with a view to the eventual granting of permanent residence or a permit from the Minister of Immigration, Francization and Integration;
  • You are a person authorised to submit an application for permanent residence in Canada;
  • You are in Quebec as a temporary worker for one or more consecutive periods of one year or more;
  • You are a foreign student in Quebec for a period of more than six months;
  • You are a protected person in Canada (who has been granted asylum);
  • You hold a tourist visa and have received an invitation from the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration to apply for permanent selection.

Candidates for economic immigration and their accompanying family members must demonstrate their knowledge of democratic and Quebec values. An attestation of participation and learning will be given to participants who attend a full OI session. The attestation is valid for a period of 2 years.

* Different conditions apply depending on one’s immigration status at the time of applying for permanent selection.

Eligible participants may receive a participation allowance of $230. This allowance is paid only once per person.

Raising Awareness of Psychological and Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

As part of the project entitled “Harcèlement en milieu de travail, Connaître, Prévenir, Agir” (“Workplace Harassment : Knowledge, Prevention, Action”) carried out with the financial support of the CNESST (Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail), the CACI has the mandate to raise awareness among immigrants who are working or looking for work of psychological and sexual harassment in the workplace.

Using advertisements, individual meetings and group workshops, the CACI explains how to recognize a psychological or sexual harassment situation in the workplace, the employer’s obligations and the possible remedies for victims of harassment.
