Upon arriving in Quebec, it is normal to feel disoriented. One may lose one’s points of reference and have difficulty understanding how things work in the host country.

The CACI offers the “Objectif Intégration” (OI) information session to facilitate newcomers’ integration in Quebec and introduce them to the specificities of the Quebec job market.

Discover the Objectif Intégration (OI) Session

The Objectif Intégration session is free and given over several days. It will help you better understand democratic and Quebec values as enshrined in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms as well as the way in which they enter into play in your daily life.

An Objectif Intégration session lasts 24 hours and is divided into 3 sections which provide information regarding the host society:

  • Section 1: Diversity and Adaptation to Quebec
  • Section 2: Five Keys to Better Understand Quebec
  • Section 3: The World of Work in Quebec

To participate in the Integration Objective session, you must meet the following conditions.

Age:

  • 18 years or older

Knowledge of French

  • You must have an intermediate level of knowledge of French to participate in the session.

Reside in Quebec

  • Immigrants must reside in Quebec to be able to register and participate in the Objectif Intégration session.

Eligible Statuses

You must be in one of the following situations:

  • You are a naturalized Canadian citizen;
  • You are a resident or permanent resident of Canada;
  • You are a temporary resident and you hold a permit issued with a view to the possible granting of permanent residence or a permit from the Minister of Immigration, Francisation and Integration;
  • You are a person authorized to submit an application for permanent residence in Canada;
  • You are in Quebec as a temporary worker for one or more consecutive periods of one year or more;
  • You are a foreign student in Quebec for a period of more than six months;
  • You are a protected person in Canada (who has been granted asylum);
  • You hold a tourist visa and you have received an invitation from the Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration to submit an application for permanent selection.

Candidates for economic immigration and their accompanying family members must demonstrate their knowledge of democratic and Quebec values. An attestation of participation and learning will be given to participants who attend a full OI session. The attestation is valid for a period of 2 years.

Eligible participants can receive an allowance of $230 for participating in the session. This allowance is granted only once per person.

Sensibilisation au harcèlement psychologique et sexuel en milieu de travail

Dans le cadre du projet « Harcèlement en milieu de travail, Connaître, Prévenir, Agir » réalisé grâce au soutien financier de la CNESST (Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail), le CACI a le mandat de sensibiliser les personnes immigrantes en emploi ou en recherche d’emploi au harcèlement psychologique et sexuel en milieu de travail.

Par le biais de publicités, de rencontres individuelles et d’ateliers de groupe, le CACI explique comment identifier une situation de harcèlement psychologique ou sexuel en milieu de travail, les obligations de l’employeur et les recours possibles pour les victimes de harcèlement.

Raising Awareness of Psychological and Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

As part of the project entitled “Harcèlement en milieu de travail, Connaître, Prévenir, Agir” (“Workplace Harassment : Knowledge, Prevention, Action”) carried out with the financial support of the CNESST (Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail), the CACI has the mandate to raise awareness among immigrants who are working or looking for work of psychological and sexual harassment in the workplace.

Using advertisements, individual meetings and group workshops, the CACI explains how to recognize a psychological or sexual harassment situation in the workplace, the employer’s obligations and the possible remedies for victims of harassment.
