I Have Children. Am I Eligible for Benefits?
In Quebec, if you have children, you may be eligible for two types of benefits
- The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) from the federal government (paid monthly).
- The Quebec Family Allowance (paid every three months by default, or monthly upon request)
The amount depends on:
- The number of children;
- Their age;
- Your family income;
- Your family situation (couple or single parent);
- The type of custody arrangement (sole or shared).
Please bring the following documents with you during your visit:
- Social insurance number for the applicant
- Proof of status for the applicant and the children concerned
- Birth certificate for the children concerned
- Sample check from applicant or joint account
- Two proofs of current address
